“In everyone’s life there are turning points”
times when you have to release the old to make space for something new. In late 2013, as summer faded into autumn, my life started to fall apart.
The glamorous career as a fashion editor that I had poured myself into for 10 years had become stifling, my self worth had plummeted, happiness was replaced with a dark cloud that hung over me each day and my drive and passion were exhausted, it was one of the lowest times of my life.
To keep a sense of balance through this unstable time I would regularly have one to one sessions with an acupuncturist called Wendy, who was also a shamanic practitioner. These healing sessions were a respite from the grind that was wearing me down, and after the sessions I would feel a sense of clarity, my perspectives and awareness were beginning to shift.
During a session Wendy said to me “Chloe, maybe one day you will want to do what I’m doing.”
Back then I was insecure and never would have said I had a calling or wish to be a healer and work with energy.
I didn’t even know what a calling was. I had no idea there were places you could go to learn about energy work, or that you could be initiated into a healing lineage. I thought you had to be born gifted with magical powers, and that there was no hope for me. But once Wendy made that suggestion, the door of possibility opened and that’s how I discovered Shamanism and The Four Winds Society.
By opening this door, life was preparing to slam shut doors behind me, on the last day of training my teacher Alberto Villoldo told me: “Don’t be surprised if your life changes when you go home.”
Within days the identity I was attached to fell away, my relationship ended and I was fired from my job as Fashion Editor.
It was a challenging and emotional time, however these events were ultimately gifts. In the rubble of transformation I felt a freedom to explore a journey of deep healing and growth, creating a life full of wisdom, self love and a deeper connection to the natural world.
When we’re hungry for change, studying under experienced teachers is a wise investment, they can take you to an edge and hold you there, allowing you to dig deep and integrate the knowledge, grounding yourself in age old wisdom.
My intention is to share, guide and teach from a place of wholeness, embodying the practices that I have been given and to expand them with my own life experiences.
I’ve travelled and studied in Peru, Chile, Thailand, India and the East & West Coasts of America, immersing myself in the practices of Shamanism, Crystalline Consciousness, Herbalism and the Oneness University. I have travelled the breadth of my homeland, visiting sacred sites, springs and holy wells in London, Glastonbury, Cornwall & Ireland, and it is with deep reverence for the myths, legends and magic of this land that ground me in the present day.
My most beloved teacher, support and guide is nature.
I have sat at the foot of great trees, immersed myself in the waters of lakes, rivers, springs and waterfalls, I’ve climbed mountains, weaved through enchanted forests all the while listening deeply to the whispers of nature within and without.
The natural world is a reflection of the divine feminine and she teaches us of the cycle of life, death and rebirth, shedding to grow again, releasing patterns and returning to love.
